Are the Dodgers Actually Better?

I have heard the proposition that the Dodgers have not actually improved since the beggining of last year and I wanted to see for myself:

2005 Opening Day:

1.Cesar Izturis, SS
2. Hee-Seop Choi, 1B
3. J.D. Drew, RF
4. Jeff Kent, 2B
5. Milton Bradley, Cf
6. Jose Valentin, 3B
7. Ricky Ledee, LF
8. Jason Phillips, C
9. Derek Lowe, P

2006 Opening Day, Projected:

1. Rafael Furcal, SS
2. Kenny Lofton, CF
3. J.D. Drew, RF
4. Jeff Kent, 2B
5. Nomar Garciaparra, 1B
6. Bill Mueller, 3B
7. Jayson Werth, LF
8. Dioner Navarro, C
9. Brad Penny, P

We made significant improvements at SS, C, and 3B. We downgraded at CF, and only time will tell if 1B was an upgrade or not.

Overall, we made a slight improvement. We were a good team at the beggining of 2005, and now we are a pretty-good team. On ace (ZITO, ZITO, ZITO!!!!) would make us not only the best in the division, but a serious team in the NL!

We downgraded in CF? Between Bradley's injuries and probations and Repko being a pile of poop, I think Lofton vs. CF is a wash.

Well, this is an opinion question...

Lofton is older than Milton, so that right there is a downgrade.

Looking at a lineup, I would rather have Bradley. Bradley does have an injury problem and he is psycho but I think that I would rather use him over Lofton. He is a better fielder and hitter, isn't he?
