PROJECTED 2006 OPENING DAY LINEUP

Here is my lineup for 2006 opening day against the Atlanta Braves:

1. Rafael Furcal, SS

2. Hee-Seop Choi, 1B

3. J.D. Drew, CF

4. Jeff Kent, 2B

5. Jose Cruz Jr., RF

6. Bill Mueller? Willy Aybar? Oscar Robles? Nomar Garciaparra? (if Robles starts then this spot would be switched with #8, if we get Nomar, this is moved to number 5), 3B

7. Jayson Werth, LF

8. Dioner Navarro, C

9. Brad Penny? Derek Lowe? Jeff Weaver????, P

As you can see the biggest whole is at third base. The best we can do is Nomar, and the worst is Robles (which would only happen if Aybar was injured). Colletti should throw the dogs at Mueller and Nomar, hoping we can scoop one.

Looking at our rotation is pathetic. WORK NEEDED, NED! Colletti should have asked for Zito in the Bradley-Perez--->Ethier deal.
